Chatham-Kent Museum & Milner Heritage House

The Chatham-Kent Museum is the vibrant community promoter of historical Chatham-Kent that inspires a love of learning! For over 70 years we have been collecting and preserving the material heritage, and the stories associated with it, significant to the citizens of Chatham-Kent and using this material to educate and engage citizens in a stimulating environment. Highlights in the collection include a nationally designated Gray-Dort automobile, several locally-made horse drawn vehicles, and Emma Milner’s award winning art.

The Milner Heritage House, which is seasonally operated, takes visitors back in time to the 1905 era with guided tours of the home by interpreters in period dress. The main museum hosts rotating, themed exhibits of local and national interest. The gift shop has local souvenirs, retro gifts, and unique items.

Both sites are located on the corner of William and Murray Streets in Chatham, Ontario, and admission is by donation. From Victoria Day to Labour Day both sites are open 7 days a week from 1-5 PM. The main museum is open 7 days a week year round, 1-5 PM, excluding some holidays. Special events and guided tours are available to the public throughout the year, with many events being free of charge. Please visit our web pages for the most current information, events and fees.
