Forest Lambton's Heritage Town
Forest has Victorian architecture in its downtown block that presents fine examples of local heritage. The library at the west end of King St. is located in the beautifully refurbished train station. The Forest skate park and rail trail are adjacent to the library on Railroad Way; great recreational venues for skate boarding and cycling. The Kineto Kiwanis Theatre shows movies downtown in its original, old fashion cinema. Fresh produce is available at local markets and pick-your-own farms. The Esli Dodge Conservation Area at the south end of town has a picnic area, pond, trails, tennis courts and an amphitheatre on the island. The village hosts special events each year.
The rambling, 27-hole Forest Golf & Country Hotel adjoins the conservation area with its undulating, pond dotted terrain that is a challenge for any golfer. It even has an island green. Complete services include golf lessons and unlimited golf packages with accommodations and dining.
Forest Lambton Museum exhibits beautiful family heirlooms. Signature exhibits include antique telephones and cameras. It opens Wed.- Sun., 1-4 p.m. at 8 Main St. North.
